The Bartow County Civic Center
Bartow County and each of its municipalities have agreed to jointly fund, through SPLOST proceeds, the construction of a 45,000 square foot state of the art civic center. The Bartow County Civic Center will be constructed on 20 acres located on Georgia Highway 20 just west of I-75, across from Georgia Highlands College.
The civic center will host a variety of businesses and social functions. The ballroom will accommodate 1400 people in a theater style seating arrangement and approximately 1000 people seated at tables. The design will allow for the space to be set up to host convention and trade shows and will be capable of handling up to 17 different functions simultaneously, from large annual meetings to family gatherings such as birthday parties, wedding receptions and anniversary celebrations.
The grounds will feature a beautifully landscaped outdoor pavilion and an amphitheater, designed to host social, cultural and entertainment events.
The facility has been designed with the County's commitment to environmental stewardship in mind and is expected to achieve a Leadership in Energy and Environment Design (LEED) silver certification, becoming one of only seven LEED Certified facilities owned by a local government in Georgia.
Administration of the facility will be provided by the Cartersville-Bartow County Convention and Visitors Bureau staff and funded by both the City of Cartersville and Bartow County, utilizing hotel-motel tax revenues.
The architectural firm of Lyman, Davidson and Dooley, Inc. is in charge of design of the facility. Hogan Construction Group, LLC has been awarded the contract for construction.
